Our Diocese requires the Empowering God's Children program. This program develops your child/children's vocabulary and the boundary distinctions necessary to empower them to recognize inappropriate behavior by others while practicing appropriate relationship boundaries in their own lives. This program is for four specific age groups: Grades K through 2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12. Parents teaching their children at home will receive a link to complete the training.
Elementary students meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:30 pm at the Parish Catholic School.
Pflaum Gospel Weeklies Curriculum
The content of this program flows from the Sunday Gospel, and children learn their faith within the rhythms of the liturgical year - Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Ordinary Time. Catholic Doctrine is included weekly.
Each week will focus on the Gospel for the upcoming Sunday, giving more meaning and understanding to the proclaimed Gospel at Sunday's Mass. There are age-specific editions: Promise (Kindergarten and 1st Grade), Good News for Children (3rd Grades), and Venture (4th and 5th Grades). There are online resources, including videos, to supplement the printed materials.
Additionally, 2nd graders will use materials to help prepare them for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
Cost: $50 per child

High school students meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Parish Catholic School.
Youth who wish to be confirmed need to attend these classes or another approved form of Catechesis in addition to Confirmation Gatherings.
High schoolers will use the Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth and YOU CAT. They explore the questions of our faith and look for the answers from the doctrine of the church. We share how we can live this faith in light of the Gospel and church teachings.
Cost: $50 per child
